About AITSL

We’re passionate about empowering educators to create the best possible learning outcomes for Australian children.

Our core business is providing national leadership that improves the quality of teaching and school leadership in Australia. We do this because evidence shows quality teaching has the biggest in-school impact on student learning.

At AITSL, we use evidence to deliver national policy frameworks that support each stage of an educator’s career, from pre-service teachers to school leaders.

We also collaborate widely across the profession to develop the evidence-based tools and resources that teachers need, to guide their practice and improve student learning.

AITSL is an independent organisation that works under direction of the Australian Government, with guidance from Education Council.
