I’d like to begin by acknowledging the beautiful artwork featured, Dutan bukut – “Stars above” in Yorta Yorta language – created by Luke and Siena Tieri of Bayadherra. Dutan bukut reflects the festive season and our ongoing commitment to recognising the knowledge, perspectives and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in all that we do, and to walking together to strengthen our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and perspectives. It’s a significant and celebratory piece, and we’re grateful to Luke and Siena for the opportunity to share it with you.
As we reach the end of the school year, I want to thank you for your connection and insights you’ve shared with us throughout 2025, as AITSL continues to work alongside you to support and elevate the profession. This has been my first full calendar year as AITSL CEO, and it’s been a privilege to meet so many of you – in schools, at events and online – and to hear directly about your work and what we can do that will genuinely make a difference. Every conversation has helped us understand how we can work in partnership to support you and your work, because we know that when teachers thrive, learners grow.

The response has been incredible. Seeing how you’ve engaged with these resources, and reading your reflections, reminds us why this work matters.
