What a joy it’s been to see Australia celebrating you this World Teachers’ Day. Our media wall and social media feeds were overflowing with ‘hats off’ moments from Emma Memma, the Australian Olympic Team, the Teeny Tiny Stevies, education departments, and hundreds of schools shared their morning tea and assembly celebrations. Every teacher shout-out was a reminder of why this day matters: recognising the expertise, care and connection you bring to classrooms every day, and the lasting impact on learners and communities. Thank you for taking part and for everything you do to keep education in Australia thriving. We hope you had a fantastic World Teachers’ Day!

The Australian Professional Standards for Middle Leaders have now been nationally endorsed, reflecting how vital these teachers are in leading and shaping quality teaching across our schools.
We’ve also published new Mentoring Guidelines, along with 2 Spotlight research reports – one on improving induction for early career teachers and another on strengthening induction for school leaders. We’d love your feedback on how useful they are, and what else you would like to see, so please keep in touch.
