Staff performance and development plan and classroom observation
Clare High School is a Year 7 to 12 secondary school of approximately 500 students located in the Clare valley, over 130kms from Adelaide. The school had been developing its processes on teacher performance and development over the last 7 to 8 years and is now at the stage where all teachers receive feedback on their classroom practice, based on observation, using the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. This process is now being extended to include peer feedback using classroom observation.

Warrnambool East Primary School has 431 students in 2013 and is located in a coastal regional city in Western Victoria about 260kms from Melbourne. The school has been working on aspects of teacher performance and development for some time and in 2012 introduced a more comprehensive set of feedback processes. All teachers receive feedback based on observation of their classroom teaching and choose two other forms of feedback as well.

Staff performance improvement plan
St. Francis Xavier Primary School is a Catholic primary school of approximately 350 students located in the middle Melbourne suburb of Box Hill, about 14 kms from the city. The school has been working on issues of teacher performance and development for over 4 years. In 2013, the school is continuing to develop these processes and it has commenced using the lesson study approach with classroom observation in the mathematics area.
