Use the interlinking resources below to support whole school planning for STEM. 

1. STEM Connections web page (ACARA) 

The STEM Connections resource shows educators where STEM education can be addressed across the curriculum. Start on the landing page to get a general understanding and then visit the subpages for deeper dives on approaches to STEM learning, whole school planning, key aspects of STEM, considerations, curriculum links and further resources.  


2. STEM Connections workbook planning tool (ACARA) 

The STEM Connections workbook was developed to support teachers to create engaging STEM units. The workbook is a practical guide for schools to use when designing a STEM unit of work. Download the workbook as a Word document. 

The STEM practices critiquing checklists focus on STEM ways of thinking, knowing, doing and being. Use the questions in the checklists to critique and strengthen a STEM unit.  Download the checklists as a Word document.

4. National STEM education resources toolkit (Australian Government Department of Education)   

This toolkit is an online resource to help teachers, school leaders, industry partners and others deliver high quality STEM initiatives in schools. The toolkit is divided into 4 sections, including information on running and evaluating STEM initiatives.
