AITSL has compiled a range of resources for early childhood teachers, leaders and employers working in school and non-school settings to understand and use the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Teacher Standards).

These resources aim to increase clarity of the Teacher Standards relevant to early childhood teachers and teacher registration. This includes interconnections with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) V2.0 2022, and application that focuses on improving teacher practice.

Becoming a registered teacher

AITSL does not register teachers so you will need to contact your local Teacher Regulatory Authority. Your local Teacher Regulatory Authority can provide information on what type of registration may be available to early childhood teachers, and resources that support the registration process. Use the table below to access your local Teacher Regulatory Authority’s website.
