Congratulations to winners of Australian Government's 2008 National Awards for Quality Schooling

The Minister for Education, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, announced winners of the 2008 National Awards for Quality Schooling at a ceremony in the Great Hall of Parliament House.  Teaching Australia Media Release and full list of Award winners.

The 2008 winners for best national achievement are:

Carolyn Hayden, Lambton High School, NSW - Best National Achievement by a Teacher

Nicolette Burraston, Cowra High School, NSW - Best National Achievement by a Beginning Teacher

Richard Nash, Seven Hills State School, QLD - Best National Achievement in Teacher Leadership

Peter Holcz, Mindarie Senior College, WA - Best National Achievement by a Principal

David Simpson, Bonya School, NT - Best National Achievement by a Support Staff Member 

Owairtilla School, Canteen Creek, NT - Best National Achievement in School Improvement

Kuranda District State College, QLD - Best National Achievement in Family-School Partnerships

The Australian Government provided more than $1 million in prize money for the awards through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
