IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for General Skilled Migration, based on the ANZSCO (Australian & New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) will be implemented from 1 July 2010.  For detailed information see http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/

• AITSL assessment for migration outcome certificates issued from 1 July 2010 will use ANZSCO codes only.
• AITSL assessment for migration outcome certificates issued before 1 July 2010 with ASCO codes will be accepted by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship provided the assessment certificate is still valid (AITSL outcome certificates are valid two years from date of issue).

AITSL
Teaching Australia became the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) on 1 January 2010. 

AITSL is the designated assessment authority for the following occupations under the General Skilled Migration Program:

AITSL's assessment for migration is one part of the General Skilled Migration process. 

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship's (DIAC) Australian Skills Recognition Information (ASRI) website provides  information on migrating as a teacher to Australia.
