Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are written for potential participants of the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Professional Learning Flagship Program: Leading Curriculum Change.

The terms and conditions apply to the following processes

  • Registration for the program
  • Participation in the program

If an applicant’s email changes, it is the applicant’s responsibility to notify AITSL of the change.

Information collected through the registration process will be kept and used by AITSL in accordance with AITSL’s privacy guidelines.

Registration

By registering, participants are agreeing to receive email communication regarding their registration. Emails may be used to provide a participant with more information about their registration for and participation in the Program.

The Professional Learning Flagship Program: Leading Curriculum Change has been designed for, and is offered by AITSL for the exclusive use of, Australian classroom teachers with formal or informal responsibility for curriculum change leadership. AITSL reserves the right to deny registration to, or remove access rights from, any participant or potential participant who does not meet the above criteria.

In addition to the participant's contact information, each registration requires the following:

  1. include the contact details of an applicant’s current principal/supervisor who will endorse an individual’s participation in the program. Refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.
  2. agree to the terms and conditions

Participation

Step one: Principal’s endorsement

No applicant can successfully register without the endorsement of a principal, or in the case of curriculum officers or transient specialised teachers, a direct supervisor. For more information about principal endorsement please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.

Step two: Agree to terms and conditions

Successful registration will involve each applicant agreeing to the terms and conditions as outlined at registration. The terms and conditions outline program guidelines and protocols regarding professional behaviour, research and future use of program materials. In summary participants who register will be agreeing that they;

  • accept that all exchanges in the public areas of the community of practice, including all written contributions and project plans released for peer review, may be used in research associated with the evaluation of the program;
  • understand that participant numbers and characteristics of participants engaging in all components of the program will be collected in order to evaluate and report on the program. No individual participant will be identified in the reporting of engagement in the program without AITSL and/or the University of Queensland (UQ) first seeking an individual’s consent to be identified in reporting and evaluation material;
  • acknowledge that if AITSL and/or UQ seek to use the above information beyond evaluation of the program (for example further research or promotion of the program), AITSL and/or UQ will seek permission from the individual participants concerned and inform a teacher’s current principal.

With the intent to guide and facilitate learning, AITSL and UQ reserve the right to monitor participant exchanges in the program, coach and model appropriate professional behaviour. UQ facilitators are required to alert AITSL if there are exchanges that are not in agreement with the professional guidelines and protocols agreed to at registration or in accordance with the terms and conditions.

AITSL and UQ reserve the right to remove a participant from the program if they engage in unprofessional behaviour not in accordance with the guidelines and protocols presented and agreed to at registration or in accordance with the terms and conditions.

If a participant has a concern about the professional behaviour of other members of the Community of Practice or a facilitator s/he has the right to contact AITSL and report this concern.
