For the first time, Australia has rigorous, consistent national standards for initial teacher education programs in universities and other higher education institutions.
The Hon. Peter Garrett, Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth Affairs, and Victorian Education Minister, the Hon. Martin Dixon, Chair of the Ministerial Council for Education, Early Childhood Development and Youth Affairs (MCEECDYA), jointly announced the Council’s endorsement of the new national arrangements today.
