Tony Mackay is Deputy Chair of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and is Executive Director of the Melbourne based Centre for Strategic Education (CSE). He is an Honorary Fellow in the Graduate School of Education at The University of Melbourne, a Board Director of the Australian Council for Educational Research, a member of the Advisory Board of the Asia Education Foundation and a Board Director of the Foundation for Young Australians.

Mr Mackay is Chair of the Innovation Unit Ltd; England and a Consultant Advisor to OECD / CERI. Tony is Co-Director of the Global Education Leaders Program (GELP). He is a founding member of the Governing Council of the National College for School Leadership in England. He is Immediate Past President of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) and Immediate Past President of the Australian Curriculum Studies Association (ACSA). His policy advice, consultancy and facilitation work focuses on strategic thinking for Government bodies and agencies, think tanks and leadership teams in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
