Allan Shaw has been Chief Executive of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA) since 2005. Mr Shaw has career experience from outside schools as well as many years of teaching and school leadership experience in secondary and upper primary schools across three sectors and in three states and territories. As Foundation Principal, he oversaw the growth of Peter Moyes Anglican Community School from prospective earth works to a school of 1000 boys and girls from four year olds through to Year 12 and over 90 staff. His skills and interests include association leadership and management, school leadership, and powerful learning for school age students. He has a particular interest in cognitive research as applied in schools, and in the use of network and social technologies.
